Key Responsibilities
Supervise daily construction, installation, testing and commissioning activities on site.
Oversee the installation of solar PV systems, BESS, inverters, distribution networks, transformers, poles, cabling and smart meters.
Ensure construction activities comply with approved drawings, specifications, method statements and quality requirements.
Supervise EPC contractors, subcontractors, technicians and local labour.
Coordinate physical works related to grid interconnection and DisCo interface equipment.
Monitor materials delivered to site and maintain basic inventory and usage records.
Conduct routine site inspections and identify construction defects, deviations and outstanding works.
Coordinate testing, commissioning and resolution of technical punch-list items.
Enforce HSE requirements, including PPE, electrical safety, working-at-height, excavation/trenching and lock-out/tag-out procedures.
Prepare daily and weekly site reports, progress updates, photographs, material records and issue/punch lists for the Project Manager.
Coordinate with engineers, contractors, local authorities and community representatives to resolve site-level issues.
Escalate technical, safety, material or schedule issues that may affect project delivery.
Qualifications & Experience
HND or Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, Power Engineering, Building Technology, Civil Engineering or a related technical discipline.
Candidates with OND/HND and strong practical experience in electrical/power construction may also be considered.
3–5 years of hands-on site supervision experience, preferably in solar PV, mini-grid, power distribution, electrical installation or EPC projects.
Practical experience supervising LV/MV distribution works, solar PV installation, battery systems, electrical cabling, earthing and protection systems.
Ability to read and interpret Single-Line Diagrams (SLDs), electrical drawings, site layouts and distribution network drawings.
Experience with electrical testing, commissioning and fault identification.
Previous experience managing site crews, subcontractors and local labour.
Experience working on mini-grid, renewable energy, power distribution or similar infrastructure projects is an advantage.
Candidates based in Ondo State or willing to be stationed on-site for the duration of the project are strongly preferred.
Tools & Technical Skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word for site reporting, material tracking and documentation.
Ability to use AutoCAD or similar software for reviewing electrical/site drawings is an advantage.
Familiarity with electrical testing equipment such as:
Multimeter
Clamp meter
Insulation resistance tester (Megger)
Earth resistance tester
Phase sequence tester
Familiarity with solar PV commissioning and monitoring tools is an advantage.
Ability to use smartphones/tablets for site photographs, GPS/location capture and digital field reporting.
